Ah, but you can delete your own post if you edit it again.
There is a delete button under the text edit window...

I couldn’t see a delete, is that option disabled when someone responds? I hope a moderator deletes this God-forsaken thread.

I have 4 buttons under the (re)Edit window: Save, Go Advanced, Delete and something I forgot (EDIT that was Cancel).
If you Go Advanced there is a really big button to delete the post.
But maybe you cannot delete a first post as it starts the thread?
Then change the thread to How to delete posts and threads...
