You won't get away with it in Europe though.

Length laws are the least of our worries. You have you get all sorts of homologations to certify that the mod is not a safety hazard to pedestrians, other drivers, the environment, etc. In other words: Lot$ of t€$ting.

I was finally able to get a test drive in a Toyota Prius C four.

The car was driven round the lot and idled for about 20 minutes, mPG started at 8mpg and slowly moved up to 62mpg with me and my father driving 11 miles each. With a mix of City and interstate.

The amount of work to get 62mpg was a bit because I was floundering around not knowing how to drive a CVT (coming off a stick) I was trying to figure out how to pulse and glide it with some limited sucess.

The trouble I kept having was that the battery was always dead and wanted to race the engine.

The godsend was the real shifter and neutral .

Shifting to neutral kills the motor and eliminates uneccessary regen.

There would probably be a steep learning curve for me but I am very tempted by the vehicle, trouble is other members of my family would want it and I hate the toyota pricing games and unavailability of the Prius C ONE. I also am not sure how to order anything from toyota, I hate orange !

In any event the dealer was very dissapointed when I didn't take his $24k used C four and asked about the C one.

Any good dealers in Wisconsin?

Typically we are getting between 50 and 60 MPG with our c 2.
Got an amazing 70 mpg going across town this week.
Can't wait until this car breaks-in..

I think the great MPG in the city is coming from the super efficient EV mode.
Our city trips all run in EV more than 50% of the miles.
It sure seems like this car might benefit from add-on plug-in pack..

But, if people end up getting 65 MPG city, driving 'normally' they aren't going to want to change a thing..

I saw my first Prius C in the wild today -- a white one, which is the color I'd choose because it is cooler in the sun. It looks better in person than in pictures. The roof line has slight bulges to allow for a bit more rear headroom. I wish the roof of my xA curved properly like the Prius C...

Edit -- I saw a second Prius C today...

Got all the nice mats out of the car and into storage today.
The new rubber mats look pretty good. They should protect the car from all the road
chemicals that we drag in during the winter.
Also have the a cargo tray in the rear, so there won't be any crying over spills-o-milk..

We also added a little rubber rear bumper protector on top of the bumper, since the one on my Ford looks so neat..

I'll take pics of it later, and the cargo tray..

How's it doing so far? Getting good MPGs?

On the way back from the office today, (a very short drive) I did pretty good.

People in the cross walk near my house, killed my 70 mpg average..

I like that 57% EV mode! And, I got an 81 out of 100 Eco score!

Hey todayican, how are things going with the prius c goodies?

I've also got a non-aero goodie that I'd like to work on in the future... removing my ho hum cd player in the prius c 2 and replacing it with a dock for the ipadmini that can be removed (that is if the ipad mini actually exists.. if not I'll go with the samsung gaglaxy 7 inch)
