Snyder ST600-C

I've become totally fascinated by these. Cheap Chinese junk? Oh yes indeed. But I don't care. I'd LOVE to have one of these to play with. They "claim" up to 70+ mpg, but they max out around 55 mph or so. I bet with some TLC and ingenuity you could really coax some extra out of them in both respects.

If you could keep it running, that is.

A/C and airbags would be nice (heck, a lap bet would be nice... I hear they don't have one), but they're actually a trike, not a car, so with that perspective, it's not a terrible deal. Still, $8k seems a little steep considering where it's coming from.

Is that a motorized "Zap Zebra"??

(Or was a Zap Zebra an electrified Snyder ST600-C? )

Videos!

Yes, by driving them backward. (Sorry, couldn't resist. But it's likely true.)

Ha! It is. I've never seen one of those before, but doing a search, I find the electric version has had not one but 2 different recalls because it didn't meet federal braking distance requirements. I didn't even know there WAS a braking distance requirement. Must have used the Flintstone technique! The Snyder uses a 600cc FI twin. I've spotted an 800cc option online, but looks like we can't get those here. Probably some emissions regs or something. The 800cc would probably be perfect, just enough oomph to clear 60-65 mph.

I'm waiting on someone to say it'll crash like the Reliant Robins, but that shouldn't be the case here. Reliant, God only knows why, placed the engine directly over the front center wheel. The Snyder places the engine between the rear wheels, so the stability should be way, way better. Not as good as a reverse trike layout, but way beyond the Robin's suicidal tendencies.

Hey, gotta give the Robins credit: they're durable little beasties. Even my wife commented on how well Jeremy's was handling the crashes. Of course, we don't know how much they repaired between takes!

I'd rock a Robin in a heartbeat. Death trap? Probably. But how cool would it be to have a car that pops wheelies on demand?

Engine in the back, no space at all up front. But it has roof rails... Yeah. That will do

I'd take a robin and put an exocage on it just to purposely roll it everyday
