Stumbled across an ad: my first car for sale near by

By chance yesterday I happened to stumble across an ad for my first car. A very non-eco 1964 Pontiac Catalina 4 door land yacht (389 V8 auto) that I got to fix up when I was 15.

It's the actual car, not just one like it.

(But this isn't the actual car)

I was tempted to go look at it (the phone number is somewhere in the area), but I need another vehicle like I need a hole in my head.

If I did need another hole in my head, I think it would be fun to do something Linc-Voltish to it.

But I'm not getting it! Seriously.

That's funny, my first car was a $300 68 Catalina, 400 motor. Might have well had a hole in the tank

My first car showed up on Kijiji a month ago, a 1981 Olds Omega, it had about 105,000km on it when I sold it but only had a 5 digit odometer. The seller was claiming it now had 35,000km....
I considered going to see it again but I really, really, don't need it and if the guy had sorted out the carburator issues I would've been tempted. My wife would've made me live in it, if it came home with me...

Oh, the 5 digit odometers! I think my Catalina was showing 72k miles when I got it. An appraiser said it was more likely 172k, but I doubted him - the car had been parked for years, and the interior was still pretty nice.

Oh, c'mon. One little visit won't hurt. You know you want to...
Seriously, I'd jump at a chance to see my first car again. Good ol' Sybil. Sigh.

Last time I saw my first car was in a junk yard. It was a '77 Buick Regal I bought new and it got totaled in 1980 at 62,000 miles. It was just getting broke in good.
