Green Drive Expo draws hybrid owners from around North America to showcase their cars and driving experiences. Visitors are offered a chance to see vehicles, some with unique modifications, and talk to green car owners, in the Owner’s Showcase.
Event manager Eric Powers says, “Consumers can be misled by misinformation about hybrids and other alternative fuel vehicles, but at Green Drive Expo they can talk to companies and individuals and feel confident that they are getting honest answers. The best part is that it all happens in one place in a fun, fair-like setting.”
The day before Green Drive Expo, hybrid and alternative fuel car owners will again be participating in the premier fuel economy competition, the MPG Challenge. Contestants are challenged to attain the most miles per gallon on an open road course within a time limit. Past entrants have achieved 100 mpg or more and many of the winning cars will be on display at Green Drive Expo on Saturday from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m.
Green Drive Expo is the region’s summertime clean and sustainable transportation event and will be held as part of the Dane County Fair on July 18-19. Free public admission to Green Drive Expo 2009 is included with the purchase of a Dane County Fair ticket, which also includes free parking.
Hybridfest Green Drive Expo’s purpose is to promote awareness and understanding of hybrid electric automobiles and other alternative fuel vehicles. For more information about activities and festival times visit www.GreenDriveExpo.com.
