I've done extensive testing on the fuel system components for my vehicle in relation to acetone. My findings are as follows: the components are cleaner, and my gas mileage is the same as if i were not using it. Acetone does not damage fuel system components of modern vehicles. It doesn't effect the efficiency enough to care about. Therefore, use it to clean out your fuel system, put a quart of anhydrous methanol in your gas tank (to remove any water in the tank), and when that tank is gone, fill up and don't worry about your fuel system because you'll have gotten rid of the car by the time there is a problem with it.
