Which part of Australia? I've spent a fair amount of time in Freemantle/Perth while in the US Navy... I've got a good friend married a Perth gal and moved down there.
Back in the 80s during a visit, me and some shipmates rented a Holden Commodore for the week. Great car and it seemed to do quite well on fuel... Threw us all for a loop to buy petrol by the liter!!! Man, I'd love to go back for some BBQ Mussels...
