looks complicated, wouldn't there otherwise be a simple sollution. like if theres a cable that gives impulses based on the fuel pump consumption, then could you hook up a simple gauge with a needle that moves as the consumption changes?
it wouldn't give MPG data, but with a sheme you could roughly guess the mpg based on pump data and gear and speed?
