I think a car's safety features a selling point?" That's your perception, and that's fine, but it's colored by your perspective. When I lived where I commuted on bike to my work only 3/4 of a mile away through a calm community, that was fine. However, vehicle safety is significant to millions of people for very valid reasons. I can't commute by bicycle these days, so safety in Atlanta rush hour traffic matters to me.
