'Cause a scooter won't go as fast as a motorcycle, or let you get exercise, like a bicycle?

Considering that I've been riding bicycles and/or motorcycles basically all my adult life, why would anyone think a car's safety features a selling point?

ATaylorRacing -

I could see having one of these as a "spare car" when my regular car is in the shop. Not sure if I'd take it on the LA freeway until I can see the performance of the proposed "more powerful 3-cylinder engine". It seems like it would be more useful than the NEVs that are speed limited to 25 or 35 MPH.

I wonder what the insurance would be on one of these. I am talking about the low mileage insurance, say 5000 miles per year.

I think you meant "Considering that I've been riding bicycles and/or motorcycles basically all my adult life, why would I think a car's safety features a selling point?" That's your perception, and that's fine, but it's colored by your perspective. When I lived where I commuted on bike to my work only 3/4 of a mile away through a calm community, that was fine. However, vehicle safety is significant to millions of people for very valid reasons. I can't commute by bicycle these days, so safety in Atlanta rush hour traffic matters to me.

Over on the other side of Atlanta from Shawn - Bicycle riding is not an option. Scooters are risky as well. The roads are not made to handle "slower" traffic, IE no burms.
Unless you can merge and drive the speedlimit ( or reasonablly close) you are going to have a very risky ride.

But I DO agree that level of risk is personal. I would have one of these. almost all my driving is Commute - but on the off chance i needed to - I could take the family somewhere (of the highway) : )

I say bring them here ASAP - we need more options. more options leads more people to consider what they NEED...
