I think he meant incisors... we're certainly designed to eat some meat. We've become clever enough to be able to sustain ourselves healthily without it which, given the other luxuries we have, is a noble choice. I personally think the most merit in this choice is a refusal to perpetuate or support our huge bloated unsustainable food system. If we were to eat by our "design", we certainly wouldn't be eating any dairy products, as they are baby cow/goat/sheep food - not people food. Another interesting idea (that I don't subscribe to) is that many vegans claim that its impossible to "consent" with an animal to take it or its products to eat. Some take this to the next level and claim that plants don't consent to being eaten either, and their goal in life is to perpetuate their species, NOT be eaten. Thus, there are people whose diet is composed of fruits, nuts, berries, (and scavenging for stuff that's already dead) - the plants that bear them "want" them to be taken because the seed will be spread in the feces of the eater.
