The way it's mounted reminds me of bicycle racks that strap onto the trunk - so maybe this could double as a bicycle rack. I would guess the 1/2" conduits probably aren't strong enough to support too much weight though.

Thanks, and the conduit is pretty strong, especially in the triangular-ish shape it's in. It could hold a bike or two, if it was sized larger, like on a full-size van.
