Who would'a thunk I'd get distracted by actual work at work?

Update: current experiments have shown data loss with the repartition events. Shouldn't be the case if you just resized and added more partitions. The start sector of the 1st partition should not have moved or changed. This is the puzzling part.
You didn't change the partition type.. I'm sure there was no need. You just added more partitions at the end of the one big one. Has this drive always been 'Apple partition Map' type?

Just noticed... Its a Terabyte drive- wow! should have plenty of room for a while.
