3 years, with a newborn son. I'm rebuilding my wife's car in the yard in my spare time.
I built 2 Civic's and 3 Eclipses from parts in the driveway at our old place, put a 10" lift and 44 inch tires (mounted by hand) on a friend's Bronc, then gutted two popup campers to make trailers and had a yard sale after building a U-Haul box truck into a camper with as many of the parts as we needed to do so.
She's cool with it, because it makes me happy. As far as I'm concerned, if I couldn't do what made me happy, I wouldn't have married her. Apparently, many Americans don't feel the same... they feel that they should have to compromise for some reason, and give up things they like to do because their "partner" doesn't approve of them.
