I'd bet the HF hubs would work just fine, however this is just a comparison of the right side CV's. The CRX uses the same one on the right and left, I couldn't get any info on the left side CV for the Insight???
There is only one D-series transaxle that uses equal length axles, and the HF isn't it.

The ZC transaxle comes with a separate half shaft that bolts to the block, which then requires the use of 2 short axles, instead of a short and a long. It's designed to control torque steer under hard acceleration. JDM only piece, though. The half shaft, or intermediate shaft, can be used with other D-series transaxles, but you'd have to tap the holes in the block that it bolts to.

It's also something you could look into for the Insight's transaxle, as well, which may allow you to use the shorter HF axle on both sides. (Then again, I think you wanted to use the Insight's twigs, right?)
