Always test adhesive tricks in an inconspicuous spot. Results can be greatly affected by residual mold release and other surface contamination. For a temporary bond, you might try using wax on the surface first. A thick, flexible adhesive between two rigid parts will hold well even with poor surface adhesion, and then can be cut in order to peel off the residue.
