I'm open to suggestions if I have overlooked an accurate and inexpensive and elegant solution to measuring my fill ups.

Finest regards,

Troy, couldn't you measure the WEIGHT of fuel added?

First, measure the weight of a known volume of biodiesel to get density. Then, weigh the vessel used to add the fuel before and after fueling. This is actually MORE accurate (has the potential to be) because volume of a given amount of fuel will change slightly with temperature, but the weight stays steady.
