The stock airfilter and box is good for about 350 hp. A K % N has been found to add 5 hp to a 400 hp subaru setup. They've been found to contaminate the MAF sensor with oil AND dirt. If you're going to run one, check and clean your MAF regularly.
If you've got more than 60k miles, a new front 02 sensor will make a big difference. I changed mine at 68k and it idled and accelerated much smoother.
Also, for some reason, the turbo subarus love copper spark plugs. The don't last as long as the stock iridium plugs, but they clear up knock issues and add a tiny bit of power.
