So.....mega bump time.
During my Epic Road Trip this summer, my uncle helped me do general maintenance on my car. However, part of the deal was that he would only buy all the stuff and help me if I took off my rear wheel skirts >.>
It's been a few months now, and I cannot conclusively say the rear wheel skirts improved my mpg. I think they helped but my evidence is in no way scientific enough to really say. A few days after taking them off, I had a record tank of 49 mpg - I also had new spark plugs, a flushed radiator with new coolant/water mix, cooler temperatures(so I rarely had to use AC), and a cleaner car(interior and exterior).
I'm considering getting more "professional" rear wheel skirts, aka not coroplast and gorilla tape. I'm sitting at 45-48ish on my current tank...about half (slow)highway driving and about half urban driving(lots of P&G but rarely reaching normal operating temp).
On a separate note, my car looks rather normal except for the absence of side mirrors and my partial grill block, and it looks as awesome as my car can look.
MPG update eventually.
Edit: I also don't know if my 49mpg fill up has ethanol in it.
