...weight is a KILLER to both FE and acceleration/deceleration.
...thought came to mind about those "overy-thick padded seats"--how about using pneumatic (air blow-up) seats?
...air & baloon-fabric (over steel frame) would certainly weigh much less than totally metal & foam seats...and, with "compartmenting" could be "individualized" to custom fit the gamut of driver butts.
P.S.--is that BIG RED BUTTON in the picture the "PANIC BUTTON"?
