I agree with tjts. IF this thing was going to have a chance it would have to wearing Caddy badges. IT would have to have all the luxuries that come with the terf too.
From images I've seen its going to be toast.
Even if the speculation is off by 25% and its only 30K its still up their with lex, BMW and Merc... and its still screwed. Tjts is right. The people who shell out that kind of cash for a vehicle are almsot exclusively interested in comparison to the Jones' and how important do they feel driving it.
James I agree it would be true that people who are concerned about avoiding jihadists getting money would be the ones interested in this car... but the ones who can afford it own a petrochemical company anyway so its a little bit of a conflict of interests... Not quite but you know what I mean. Most people who bought original insights didn't have the budget space extra for buying two of them at the same time...(effectively what the volt costs).
One of the longest standing facts of automanufacturers is cars produced for the masses keep the company afloat. There are virtually no supercar manufacturers still standing today... they all went belly up and got bought up by the likes of VW, Fiat, and Audi. There is a reason for it. The market of people with extra cash on hand to float towards "luxury items" (vehicles that cost more than they have to) dwindles during economic recession. Ford, Audi, Fiat, and VW produce cars that people have to have. People have to be able to get around and those manufacturers produce vehicles that are "base" level(yes of course they could buy used but eventually someone is going to buy a new car and its certainly not going to be an expensive in an economic downturn).
Trying to build a high investment, low return, low effect product at this time is suicide. If the markets were booming it would be a great idea because the conscientious people would have the money to float to do this. Right now? The only people who have the money to float couldn't care less....
