That Solectria was a vastly more efficient package than the Tesla. Makes me wonder how the two cars' pack capacities compared.

Tesla's been more or less ignoring efficiency for performance - can't blame them, because it seems to be working from a business angle. (They've sold over 700 cars to date, far more than Solectria ever sold of its efficient Force hatchback & sedans). The couple of efficiency stories I've seen have come from Roadster owners who took it on themselves to push that particular performance envelope.

There's another story of an owner babying his on a round trip from Silicon Valley to Yosemite (with a charge along the way).
