For those who didn't get it, my SG would adjust to -10% on one tank, and I'd think I was getting great mileage on the next tank, based on SG info. Only to find out needed to be set +5% on the next. Then the SG reported lousy numbers for the next tank. The change in reported numbers from tank to tank was not helpful for evaluating my mods or driving techniques. I now leave the SG alone when I fill up - It's usually within one mpg for the tank. And when the SG reports an improvement (or reduction
) in FE, it really means something now.
And yes, I fill at the same pump using the same method every time, unless it's an emergency.
