Simple, just costs. The automatic was a lot cheaper than a manual because with the manual I would need the transmission, mounts, clutch, pressure plate, shifter and linkages. The cost of all that was over $900 where a replacement Auto was only $300.
On the transmission note, I won't be able to get it until maybe Monday. Apparently the forklift guy put a crack in the casing and the transmission was sent out for repair. Ugh.
I just checked my EV's computer to see if the transmission shot any codes out, but it didn't so I am off to take it apart and try to find any damage. The transmission makes a racket when spun up and I can't tell where the noise is actually coming from.
