Wow. It took me a while to figure out the pictures, but it is very cool,
. I would use much shorter bolts to avoid risk of damage to tires, but I think you are just showing proof-of-concept, not the final cut.
I was thinking that a hinge "should" be from the top, but yours is better because you are creating the strongest attachment where the wind would be trying to get under the skirt and rip it off the most.
That makes me ask the next question, how will you make it so that the skirt is attacheable/removeable along the curving line above the hinge? The hinge will be strong, but there needs to be a way to "seal" the rest of the skirt above the hinge. I'm asking because I'm always paranoid that the wind will get under and try to rip your wheel skirt off (I hate wasting hard work).
