Go buy a 370K5 (37") or 5PK935 (935mm) belt, or the nearest size that they *do* have.

You mean you want to cut part #7 in half? But that's a $700 part! Not to mention that it's the cat. Maybe you could make an elbow before the cat, and find room for it farther down the exhaust.
So, how loud is the Insight's 1.0L without a muffler?
I was really hoping you'd get your car in a condition to limp to N.H. so you could work on it and play with it there, but I can't hold it against you for failing to complete an unprecedented engine transplant in a weekend or two.
