I'm going to have to talk to my Father and see if he'll let me take the front off his dryer so I can get at the heating element and trace the ducting back. It should be pretty easy, I'd think.

Would an intercooler work as effectively in the wrong direction, pushing the exhaust through the pipes, and pulling the intake air through the fins? I'm thinking the intake is probably smaller than the exhaust.
