Simple way: Find the intake of your dryer, and pipe it through the front of an easy-to-obtain DSM sidemount intercooler. Pump the exhaust through the charge part.

I've been looking at doing this with my Father's dryer to increase it's efficiency, even though he only uses it once a week.

That could work.
Where is the air intake on a typical dryer?
Might need 2+ DSM intercoolers 4" dryer vent . . . .

Only slightly off the path, THANKS, FRANK!!!!
I'm a bread baker, and in the winter getting the bread to rise is always an extreme exercise in patience, 'cause I keep the house at 62*. Now I know to do laundry on baking day!!!!
BTW, we only dry our "unmentionables" in the dryer in the summer, and only use it for everything when it's cold. So I just dump the dryer vent air into a small storage room off the garage. Sure makes it nice to work on a car on laundry day!

Good question. I haven't taken one apart yet with intentions to find out... I usually dismantle them for scrap.

You're welcome!

Let me know how it works out!

Re: heat exchanger pre-heat: that sounds awesome and even though I kinda know my way around dryers, I've never looked to see where the intake air comes in.

I'm going to have to talk to my Father and see if he'll let me take the front off his dryer so I can get at the heating element and trace the ducting back. It should be pretty easy, I'd think.

Would an intercooler work as effectively in the wrong direction, pushing the exhaust through the pipes, and pulling the intake air through the fins? I'm thinking the intake is probably smaller than the exhaust.
