Well George W is pushing the hydrogen, so that should tell you something...

This movie shows you that the people behind the scenes want to be able to sell you something over and over. You would have to keep buying hydrogen, just like you keep buying gas, and with a vehicle that has all those moving parts, they'll keep selling you parts and oil and maintenance. That one mechanic in the movie shows all the filters, oil, belts, catalytic converters, etc. necessary to keep an ICE powered car on the road, and how dirty he was just touching the stuff. Then he talked about when an electric car came in he checked the tires and wiper blades, and that was it.

The last thing the car manufacturers and energy companies want is for you to have an electric car that will last for hundreds of thousands of miles, without using up tons of parts, and a solar array on the roof to keep it charged.
