Well, I'm not an NHRA dude, but just (finally) got an estimate of ~$200 for the job. I was surprised.
(EDIT: the guy is a customer of my brother's, and my brother said he gave him a good deal on some work, so this is probably returning the favour.)
So it is going ahead. At this pace, I expect to have a the new gearset in hand next summer.
