Not to answer for OP, but if I understand correctly, it's basically the same type of prechamber that IDI diesel engines use to pre-combust the gasses in a rich environment, forcing the initial pressure pulse to ignite the rest of the very lean mixture, preventing pre-ignition *detonation* from occurring and damaging the cylinders.


Please, if I'm not correct, correct me. I never really got a good description on it.
