As well as using all the engines radiated heat to minimise the low pressure area behind the car.
Very clever design.
Now the windshield is another matter, but remember curved class was not an option in 1928. They did make it fairly small, and with that glass cranked open you get a heck of a blast of air for a semi AC in the summer. Might need to wear goggles in case a June bug whacks you in the face
