So what do you refer to a Corvair as? What about VW's?

Hell, there's a lot of cars with the engine behind the axle. Are they all penii?

For anyone not familiar with the term and googling it, it's "Phallic Symbol".

Rather clever design... suck the air up from bad zones and use it to fill the wake behind the car.
As well as using all the engines radiated heat to minimise the low pressure area behind the car.

Very clever design.

Now the windshield is another matter, but remember curved class was not an option in 1928. They did make it fairly small, and with that glass cranked open you get a heck of a blast of air for a semi AC in the summer. Might need to wear goggles in case a June bug whacks you in the face .

regards
Mech

I'm gonna say with blades that tightly placed and pitched like they are, that's a low-speed engine. I'd guess a redline of like 4000 RPM or so, or else that fan is doing nearly nothing but spinning in the wind.

Of course, to make it better at it's job, it should be placed further into the shroud, closer to the exit. It's already pulling air, but there would be more usable surface area if the fan were further from the engine.

Ha Ha, "work"

I've never done any underhood cooking. I like using the dryer for that.

That fan can't be doing much of anything once that thing is rolling.

I suspect that flat windshield isn't as bad for aero as it looks. Nice big radii all around it.
