Just because someone doesn't like your idea, doesn't mean you should be offended, if that's the case.

Do you have any idea how many times people have shot down something I had to say? It doesn't affect me because it's their project. Let him do it the way he wants. The only thing you can hope to do is provide input and expect that someday, someone will see it your way.
