I (like others here) post on a 'car brand' forum. they rarely ever discuss mpg muchless FE. I had been posting here for the last 6 weeks about my progress and finally posted on the Q45 forum site.
The hostility was.....welll...... I'll let you judge....

the post by PARINIOD JACK toward the end was completely unexpected.

Can a 2002 Q45 get 31mpg on the freeway......: Q45 Forum / Cima Forum: Nissan Forums / Infiniti Forums - NICOclub
Reading that thread was like deva vu, I see pretty much the same. But I must admit that I really tried to give as much info as possible without going into verbal fights (I autocensored quite a bit). The urge to write a vile reply to dumb posts is strong, but I decided not to go there. A few members appreciated the work I put in and told the rest to get off my back if they didn't have anything smart to add to the discussion. What's especially nice is someone who appreciated my long, informative posts, even though he himself wasn't a supporter of grille blocks.
I also decided not to get into the details of A-B-A-B testing when a member said that he tried a grille block for 2-3 days and didn't see a difference, so it doesn't work.

EcoModder.com has a very high level of culture as far as discussions go (with Darin leading the way). Once you get used to it, going to another forum is sometimes like a bucket of cold water. We just have to do our best to stay at that level, where ever we are.
