The problem I found is that there is not enough contact surface area to get a good hold on the pizza pan with tape. The lip is rounded and only about 1/8" at that. Attaching a grill block is much different than a "hubcap". The grill block itself is static and the wind will help to hold it in place. On a hubcap the wheel is spinning at high speed, and the wind is not pressing it into place, but trying to pull it away from the wheel.

I found that zip ties work well if you have a place on the wheel to wrap it around. I drilled 3 equally spaced holes around the edge of my pan, and that kept it in place, but not quite centered. Centering is a problem that I want to figure out.

The other thing is that the pizza pan rusted quickly, so if you go that route, you will need to paint the pan to make it last.
