I would not recommend the hole fer the valve stem (if possible). Too much potential fer cutting the valve stem...

I'd try fer a dent in the pizza pan so there's enough clearance on the valve. Use the wheel weight clips and zip tie the pan to the clips. Cut the ties when you have to check yer tire pressures. Cheap enough to replace those.

I'll have to update when I can upload some pictures. You need to paint those pizza pans, because they start to rust in no time.

Has anyone tried to use that 3M automotive double sided tape to attach the pizza pans to the rim? I bought 1 pan to do a test and have some double sided tape I got from harbor freight. I have been using it to attach my bumper and grill block on. It works great. The pizza pan fits perfectly to the edge of my rim and the middle of it touches the center cap. So I was thinking not drilling in it and just using the tape.

the double-sided tape isn't as strong as i expected. i bit of exposure to moisture made it peel a bit. maybe i should've cleaned the surface more thoroughly.

WARNING: the tape will damage your paint

i don't think i've ever seen double sided tape hold anything for very long. so i quit using it in the '80s. but that was a long time ago and things improve, right?

right?

The problem I found is that there is not enough contact surface area to get a good hold on the pizza pan with tape. The lip is rounded and only about 1/8" at that. Attaching a grill block is much different than a "hubcap". The grill block itself is static and the wind will help to hold it in place. On a hubcap the wheel is spinning at high speed, and the wind is not pressing it into place, but trying to pull it away from the wheel.

I found that zip ties work well if you have a place on the wheel to wrap it around. I drilled 3 equally spaced holes around the edge of my pan, and that kept it in place, but not quite centered. Centering is a problem that I want to figure out.

The other thing is that the pizza pan rusted quickly, so if you go that route, you will need to paint the pan to make it last.

I have gone threw a car wash with my bumper block on and the tape is still holding it on there.

I am going to give it a shot with the tape. My wheel pokes out so the center of the wheel meets the center of the pan.
