Wow. So the UK goes both ways, eh? (Kidding!)
I hate it when I get people that only know one measurement system or the other. It's such a PITA, especially when you have to keep going back and forth because you work on this car or that. I prefer that everyone know at least some of the simple conversions if I'm going to work with them.
Things like 1/2" 13mm, etc. They're not exact, but they work well enough that they're mostly interchangeable.
