Rant WARNING -

i actually work for a "large company" - in a team which is developing solutions for reducing emissions from the existing power plants already running.

Some may view this as " well you have already been brainwashed by the company" or " of course you believe the tripe they feed you" - others can take it for what it is worth......

Yes our economy is based on Fossil Fuels. Yes we need to be looking for better ways to collect the energy we need. Yes if we continue the way we have it will be to late - and one can easily argue it is already to late.

we are a counrty of over 300 Million people and it takes time to move that many to doing the right thing. Had we all stood course back in the 70's we would not be having this discussion.

Any step in the right direction IS A step in the right direction - ( the whole journey of a thousand miles addage). Of course marketing is going to paint a greener picture than reality - that is what they always do.

If company X can burn a piece of coal or a cubic foot of natural gas and emit less emissions than the next company - GREAT. if company Y can produce a car that can decrease consumption 1% - GREAT. if the government mandates a XX% decrease in CO2 emissions - GREAT.

Until the PEOPLE actually stand up and say - This is not enough - you have to do MORE and you have to do it FASTER. Government and companies are going to move at there pace - which may not be OUR pace.

Elect the people who are working for change - buy from the company doing the right things. Then those who were Not elected or who's profits are not as they expected will realise - they are not doing the right things and will try to "step ahead" of the other guy - that is how progress will accelorate.

- end of my rant -
