wow thanks David! I hear what you're saying that they don't violate any electrical laws but something has to give. I don't know much on the topic but I'd say insulation rating is the first thing that will go when removing copper from a motor. Won't the reduced resistance, ie: added current flow, heat the coils beyond their insulation rating and cause a meltdown somewhere? I guess I should read some more on that forum since they are actually achieving something with their mods.
If their modifications hold true, I guess that would be one way to buy a lightweight motor and soup it up to max hp. Boy, just typing that sends chills down my spine. Something has to give somewhere... well, I'm off to read that thread.
