Funny stories about parents and their strange autos/driving habits

My dad is so cheap he only buys cars that no one else wants. ($0-$400 max) They run for a few months then die and he usually does not bother/can't fix them.
If he would just spend a couple thousand he could have one decent vehicle instead of 7 broken ones. *sigh*
The one car that he had that lasted for a really long time was a gold Plymouth Volare station wagon with a slant 6. It got so beat that mushrooms started growing in the rear passenger foot well but that engine ran forever. The front right wheel was worn down to the cords and bulged so much that it had a wobble that started slow and got worse and worse until you hit about 55 then it was suddenly smooth.
