I don't know what size a123 batteries are. If they are similar to RC car battery cells, the "battery bars" they use to connect them in packs are small flat metal bars with a hole in the middle and you solder them to the end of the cells. You would need to arrange them in the configuration you want and figure out a pattern to attach the tabs.

144v/1.2v=120 cells 600cells/120cells=5 1 cell ~=1000 mAh 144v@5Ah.

I'm far from an expert on electric propulsion, but I think 150km is quite ambitious. Hopefully i'm wrong.
