Another Metro EV conversion? maybe?

Hey Folks,

My brother-in-law is a professional delivery driver. For years, he has been driving a 2000 Geo Metro, 3-cylinder, 5-speed.

Just recently, the engine AND tranny have gone bad.

He just bought a Hyundai Accent to replace it.

The body on the Metro is very good, and the interior is super-clean. It would seem to be a shame to not do SOMETHING with this car!

So, perhaps an EV conversion?
Only trouble there - I already have an electric Geo Metro, what do I need another one for?

Should I buy it off of him so that in the future, I have transplant parts?

Look around for a new engine and tranny and keep it running as a gasser?

All ideas welcome.

-Ben
