Other thing with the CRX HF is tires, it's supposed to take the same size as the civic vx if I remember correctly, 165/70R13 if I'm not mistaken, hard to find size but a size that you can get in low rolling resistance from tirerack.com
Also, your PCV valve, I think is under your intake manifold, hard to get to and seldom checked or changed.
10w-30 worked fine in my 1984 Civic Wagon.

I'd clean the PCV valve out with carb cleaner or get a new one from Honda. I once tried a Fram valve and it failed the factory manual's test about 50% of the time. I had pretty good luck getting the valve out of the breather chamber just by pulling on the hose.
