rpm monitoring

I've read alot of the shift recommendation on shifting. I've always done the 2-2.5(3 when necessary) accelaration between shifts. I saw a few people mentioning 1500 rpm but my question is this my cars engine blocks start jumping and making a lot of not friendly noises if i dont keep the rpms above 2k? Is there something im suppose to do the motor mounts to enable this or is this common fuel effeciency for trucks vs car?
