Aspire as in Ford aspire? Thats thats really strange considering my festiva would lug down to 1000 pretty well. The Aspire IS a couple hundred pounds extra but they made up for it with shorter gearing. You should be able to cruise 25 in 5th gear easily. You could always try swapping the sohc 1.6 out of a 323 for a little extra oomph down low, its a direct bolt in.
