This big car with a V6 will get down with it!

The two most important things to remember is drive gently and conserve momentum. I take about 30 seconds to accelerate to 30 mph and drive at 35 tops. Take the best route to and from work and get aquatinted with the timing of the lights. It's okay if you have to stop, as long as you are coasting to a stop. The freeway is actually far worse on mileage than the city (for me) because driving at a steady 55 takes more gas than P+G thru the city at 35.
We had a heat wave move thru the valley last weekend and my mileage went from 45 MPG to under 38. My car was telling me it was as high as 118F in a few spots. I'm okay up to ~105F with the A/C off, chomping on ice and swallowing the bits, but it was not happening then. I think the gas required to idle with the A/C on is only a little less than what is required to move the car at 30 mph with the A/C off. Since it's cooled off I'm back up to 40 MPG (indicated) and I'm hoping to improve on that before I fill up.
