2011 Ford Mustang V6 achieves record 48.5 MPG via
ABG
Title says it all.
Quote:
In order to achieve the best possible fuel economy, the V6 Mustang traveled at an average speed of 43.9 mph, including driver changes, and covered a total of 1,457 laps at Bristol Speedway. In total, 776.5 miles were traveled, resulting in an average fuel economy of 48.5 mpg – a new record for Bristol Speedway – and not too shabby for a 305 horsepower sports coupe.

Just makes me wish automakers would publish this kind of info for new vehicles: "max range/mpg" (ie. just after top gear engages), also mpg at a range of
constant cruising speeds.
