I agree with the others. The higher the factory rating, the harder it will be to beat that rating. For a fairly similar car, though, you should perform similarly. If you drove a Corolla, for instance, I'd expect you to see the same 50-55 mpg.

The best hypermiler I know of in an MT Insight (1) is getting ~115 mpg averages these days. That's 116% above the (new) epa combined. I, driving similarly to what he does, can get ~150% above (new) epa in my civic.
