I think newer vehicles would be harder to beat the EPA by the same percentage. Because of old EPA numbers. And because newer vehicles usually have more enhancements for better mpg, whether it be aero or engine tuning. Newer vehicles are usually more controlled and you can't mess with it's brain as much to persuade it to change shift points, etc.
